2.2.4 Tape Saturation
The Tape Saturation knob is a large rotary selector for setting the tape saturation level applied to the currently focused pad. The knob has 5 or 6 discrete positions depending on the loaded machine, cycling clockwise from its default DI (Direct Input) position at 7 o’clock through four levels of Studer 820 analog tape saturation (Push 1-4) at increasing intensity. The final position is a J37 tube tape stage, or a Distressor compressor/limiter (for the LinnDrum drum kit).
Each pad’s Tape Selection — DI, Push 1-4, or J37/Dist — appears in its lower-right corner, so you can see at a glance which tape stage is applied to each drum.
The tape saturation selection changes which sample layer is used for the pad’s sound — there is a brief 100ms transition delay when switching between tape types.
